Multitouch Game of Life

I made a Game of Life application for VRAC's multitouch table. Check it out...

This was fun to play with. :)

Is there an online version?

Obviously, it wouldn't be multi touch... unless you did something with the Ctrl key to make the mouse select more than one square at once... hmmm...

Hi Alicia!

No, I don't have an online version right now. Fortunately, there are already several online Java applets out there:

1. http://www.ibiblio.org/lifepatterns (click on the button on the top-left)

2. http://www.bitstorm.org/gameoflife (this one lets you start with some cool creatures)

Both of these let you stop and start the simulation, which is sorta like holding ctrl to select multiple cells... but not quite as fun as multitouch.

Is there any way that you can post a download of this app? I am working with a group of students on developing a multi-touch screen and we are looking for cool apps to put on it. Thanks. -Dan

Dan-

I just posted the source code here.

Unfortunately, it requires several dependencies (old VRAC multitouch libraries) which were lost when their authors graduated. The code should still be useful as an example, though. Good luck!
